Even though Jannik Sinner is ranked #1 in the world, few people actually thought he could defeat Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon 2025 final. The Italian had a very difficult time. At Wimbledon, Alcaraz had won 20 straight games, including two trophies in a row. After recovering from an injury at the Italian Open, he had gone 24 games without losing going into the final. Most intimidatingly, he had defeated Sinner five times in a row, starting with their Beijing semifinal match in 2023.

But this time things were different, Sinner didn't allow Alcaraz to break the serve even for once and ultimately became the Wimbledon champion.
