According to news, the medical profession's regulator predicts that women will soon outnumber males as medical doctors in the United Kingdom. As of the moment, women make up 49% of licensed doctors in the United Kingdom, and it is expected that this proportion will rise in the future. Furthermore, ethnic minority doctors currently outnumber white doctors.

From 2019 to 2023, Wales had the greatest increase in the number of female doctors, followed by England, which experienced a 23% increase. The research also highlighted a small increase in medical student enrollment in 2023, with women accounting for 60% of new students.
