Its all about being professional and respectful, and if both parties respect each other's work space and also be professional, then there is nothing wrong with work-place relationships, but if they don't have those things, then it will be an awkward moment for them and their colleagues. and if the relationship ends, it will be hard for them to work in the same working space.
