Would mind reading technology be a reality?

I heard that some tech people are developing neuro transmitters that can be used to read minds. This would really affect the privacy of people if it comes through.

Do you think that mind reading technology would be a reality in the world? How soon would it happen?

I heard there are some persons making research on it, so I am guessing it would be possible in the future.

I don't want this particular tech innovation to see light. We are already struggling with privacy issues and this would shatter it all.

Here mind reading is used on some citizens without their permission or legally valid reason to rob their trade secrets, making them slaves. The well paid liar government employees are faking friendship with the citizens whose mind they read to rob without getting a court order or legally valid reason.

I sincerely don't think mind reading technology should be allowd to exist except we all would be in great danger.
