Let's assume someone is rendering services like a janitor, a laundry man, a barber, a plumber etc. And they have to go meet a potential client to negotiate a gig.

Do you think what the service provider wears for that meeting would affect how much the client would trust the service provider?

This issue of dressing is very important. When a client sees you dressed a little smartly, even if it's simple clean clothes, trust increases. If you go to a negotiation with dirty or disheveled clothes, someone may doubt your professionalism. It is said that clothes show character. Even if the job is a janitor or plumber, if you present yourself well, you bring confidence and someone accepts the deal quickly. Appearance is part of communication and carries a great impact on trust.

Yes what you wear, often plays a role in how potential clients view and even receive you. Like they say, people are mostly moved by what they see first before anything else.

No matter how informal your business might seem to be, you must learn to dress fine and appear neat. That's you giving identity to your brand.
Dressing smart is like riding a camel in the desert with clean water. It gives you respect and your brand has a clean look. Even if your business is informal, you must look neat and classy. As the Chinese proverb says, clothes do not make the person, but they reflect the best character. If you dress well, people take you seriously and your trust increases. At the end of the day, your brand becomes stronger and your name remains shining like a lamp at night.
