Imagine that as a business, you are required to contribute to a social project in your community and it would eat into 50% of your profits for two months.

Would you contribute to the project or hold back and keep your profits?

When online investors, workers are making a huge business loss, due to government financial fraud, slavery racket, they cannot contribute to any social project since they have very less free time.

Can you stop posting all these talks about fraud everywhere?

To topic, social responsibility is a sacrifice that a company can make to see the benefits in the future.

If my company is making profit, I am willing to use some of the profits to support a good cause.

I will reduce my profit and do the needful. In my immediate society, the government is not functional and don't even care aboit the citizens welfare. Most of the community projects are driven by donations from individuals and non governmental organizations.

As far as there is some profiting and the reduction of profits would not be forever, I would compromise on profit levels to pursue societal needs
