Wounded and sick children leave besieged Gaza Strip, in first medical evacuation for weeks

Israel's offensive in Rafah has resulted in the evacuation of dozens of sick and injured children, including 20 cancer patients, through the Kerem Shalom crossing in Gaza. Israeli authorities claim the 68 were taken to Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday. COGAT, the Israeli organization in charge of permitting supplies into Gaza, coordinated the transit with the Israeli military, the United States, Egypt, and the World Health Organization (WHO).
