California wildlife officials have managed to subdue and capture a young mountain lion roaming the streets of San Francisco. The incident occurred in the Pacific Heights neighborhood on Tuesday, after the animal was spotted near a residential building.
Specialists from San Francisco Animal Care Control and California Fish and Wildlife managed to corner the lion in a narrow space between two buildings and administer a tranquilizer.
The lion, estimated to be about two years old, will be evaluated by veterinarians at the Oakland Zoo. After an examination, officials will decide when and how it will be safely returned to its natural habitat.
