Why does everyone want to own their business solo than collaborate to co own a business?

Most of the young people I talk to want to own their own businesses but they don't want to collaborate with another person to set up that business. They would rather prefer to delay till when they can solely raise capital than join funds with another person to setup the business idea.

Why is collaboration lacking among young people in entrepreneurship now?

Partnership is not always easy especially now you can find it difficult to see people with integrity and discipline. Partnership or collaboration with others is better when the business involves huge finance. In a capital intensive business, everything will be spelled out and agreement backed up with legal documents.

Just like always wanting to have your private space to your self even in business a lot of people like their personal space so they they can be flexible with their decisions and management

For most people, they simply do not want to go through the stress of dealing with a partner. Like myself I prefer running things on my own. In the future though I might decide to co own a business.

Running solo has pros and cons. The best part is you can have the control of how things should be managed. But if you have a partner, s(he) may contribute capital and knowledge to the business.

It is very difficult to find a person you can trust especially if you have powerful enemies. Most people will betray or ghost you after some time, so it is better to work alone.

Yesh if one find it better to work alone let it is the best. You can run things your way if you have your vision and goals intact.

Doesn't even make sense when you can expand your business through partnerships. Solo business is very stressful.
