Most of the young people I talk to want to own their own businesses but they don't want to collaborate with another person to set up that business. They would rather prefer to delay till when they can solely raise capital than join funds with another person to setup the business idea.

Why is collaboration lacking among young people in entrepreneurship now?

Partnership is not always easy especially now you can find it difficult to see people with integrity and discipline. Partnership or collaboration with others is better when the business involves huge finance. In a capital intensive business, everything will be spelled out and agreement backed up with legal documents.

For most people, they simply do not want to go through the stress of dealing with a partner. Like myself I prefer running things on my own. In the future though I might decide to co own a business.

It is very difficult to find a person you can trust especially if you have powerful enemies. Most people will betray or ghost you after some time, so it is better to work alone.
Yesh if one find it better to work alone let it is the best. You can run things your way if you have your vision and goals intact.

I don't believe in running business solo. I prefer to share a business and take a smaller profit but yet the business is firmly rooted.

One can have full control over the business. In a matter an entrepreneur becomes their own bosses and enjoy decision making of the business.
Doesn't even make sense when you can expand your business through partnerships. Solo business is very stressful.

Running a business has many layers that pops out without warning one example would be your trusted partner letting you down or letting the business down by stealing funds some commit murder in order to gain full access its best to do it alone to avoid disappointments.
