According to the report, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on January 2 that US President-elect Donald Trump could be decisive in the outcome of the 34-month-old war with Russia and help stop Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.

The report said that In a televised interview, seated beside Ukraine's first lady Olena Zelenska, Zelensky said Trump's administration is capable of stopping Putin and it was critical to stabilizing the front line early in the new year amid Russian advances.

The report also stated that Zelensky has said that achieving a just peace for Ukraine meant receiving solid security guarantees from its allies, joining the European Union, and receiving an invitation to join the NATO alliance, a notion rejected by Moscow.

The report added that he also hoped that Trump's administration could establish quick contact with Russia. Putin has said Moscow is open to talks but they must take account of Russia's gains in the war and its annexation of four Ukrainian regions.

At least President Zelensky is ready to concede with his troops but Putin already informed President Trump that he won't stop the war with Ukraine. It is hoped that once President Trump sits down in the White House the mind of Putin will be changed and ready to accept the deal for peace.

34 months of war, that's a very long period of time, imagine the thousands of lives and resources that has been lost.
That is right, the war better has ended after some months so those who were killed in the war could have chances to enjoy life with their families. War is brutal and deadly.

I wonder how Trump can stop the war. The issue at hand is complex and very difficult to diffuse. Militarily, the war is not likely to stop except Ukraine backed down by not joining NATO. This is the main issue and i don't see how Trump will make Russia government agree to the that.
