I usually buy both whole sale and retail. I buy rice in wholesale one sack good for three months consumption for four people at home. My brother in law is a seaman and when he goes back to his overseas work, we only buy in retail. The other products for wholesale buying include cooking oil good for one month usage the rest retail buying. Indeed, we can save time and money in wholesale buying.

Wholesale buying is mostly done by big time businessmen.

I do buy essential products like food stuffs in bulk. But presently, am buying in retail because the economy is quite rough for everybody. The year is just starting, everything is on the high side. May God save us from hunger and starvation.

I also seldom buy in wholesale. There are only three of us at home. We eat according to what we like but not in bulk only minimal sometimes. It's good to buy in bulk during long holidays like Christmas month and Holy Week.

Those who usually buy wholesale are rice sellers. They buy in sacks and sell them by retail, in kilo. It's beneficial for the rice sellers to buy in wholesale to save time and money. They can save and earn more.

Buying wholesale is also money-saving. There is a difference between buying in wholesale and retail. For me, it is only good for a big family. At home there are only 3 of us, so we prefer to retail buying.

It depends on the type of item, for long-lasting items like toothpaste and toothbrush, soap etc, I buy at least 6 pieces in bulk at a cheaper price than buying individually. But for items that are not long-lasting or expire quickly I will buy individually.
