The experience of living independently/ single after 60.

From childhood to the age of 24 I stayed with my parents. Then I got married and moved to my husband's house and very soon had two sons and we were a family of four. So I never stayed alone as a young girl. It's only after my husband's death in 2020 that I had to live alone since 2022, before which my elder son stayed with me because of the pandemic. I should say I feel free and independent though I have to manage a lot of things. I am gaining confidence in myself and am living peaceful.

Yes, it can be challenging at times but then you gain the confidence gradually. I went into depression for a year but gathered myself.

My kids are grown up and so they took care of me after my husband's death. My elder stayed with me and worked from home. Slowly I gained the confidence and am staying alone now.

For me, I can't live alone. I am an extrovert and I need people to talk to. I'm not used to live alone. I may suffer loneliness being alone.

There are many people like you who can't live alone. I too panicked after my husband's death but gradually accepted the situation and am living peacefully now.
