The report said that amid rising U.S.-China tensions, reports resurfaced that Xi Jinping’s daughter, Xi Mingze, secretly studied at Harvard under a pseudonym. Activist Laura Loomer alleged in April 2025 that Mingze is still living in the U.S., demanding her deportation. This fuels scrutiny of Harvard’s China ties and international student policies.

Why is the daughter of President Xi not using her full name but a pseudonym? That's weird and malicious.

It is not at all unusual for the son of a great leader like Xi Jinping to use a pseudonym. Xi Mingze studied at Harvard under a different name to protect his safety and privacy. Families of Chinese leaders often do this due to political concerns and international risks.

This does not mean that there is any bad intention or malice. It is a way to protect oneself from media surveillance or ill-intentioned people. For a famous person, even ordinary life like studying or going for a walk can be a huge challenge without privacy protection.
