Police closes 14 abusive plastic surgery clinics in Italy

After 3 women's deaths caused by beauty procedures, the Italian police discovered various abuses carried out among 14 plastic surgery clinics since the beginning of 2025: staff lacking proper skills (they own fake degrees), unsuited machines, expired drugs and not sanitised environments. The police confiscated expired drugs and medical devices for the value of 3,5 million euros. The 14 clinics have been locked.

Also people should check the competence of surgeons before going on for the surgeries.

That was a terrible act by those culprits pretending to be skilled beauty experts; at least they ended up in jail miserably. Those victims did not observe the situation.

I agree with you. It also happened in the Philippines. Faces of young ladies were deformed after enhancing their faces with a fake beauty consultants, fake dermatologists, Others died. They better be contented with what God gave them.

It is well, they got what they wanted. If they where just contented with what they had, they won't be facing such issue now.

Sometimes it's not so easy: I'm thinking of people suffering cause of obesity, overweight, double chin or other kinds of fat deposits that no exercise nor diet is able to solve (it's especially the case of a double chin). In such a case, that's no question of enhancing one's face, but fat removal. Obviously, the notably low costs should have raised red flags: in any way, as at least one of the deceased patients was a Latin American, probably she hadn't the least idea of the standard costs of a plastic surgery in an euros based country. I also think of people who suffer cause of severe malformations (think of harelip, for ex.). They need a plastic surgery, as among western countries they bump into discrimination (when not bullying).

You have a point though, i have seen cases of people with extreme conditions like this and had no other option but to go under the knife to save their lives.

Having another point: in my former country, children, teenagers and young adults who aren't good-looking usually suffer a lot of bullying during all school time. Since the primary to the end of high school. In the university? Usually bullying stops in an university environment, but these people are likely to stay single. It's very hard for them to find a suitable partner. So I'm not at all astonished that, despite the lack of real malformation, they become very eager to change their appearance. Nobody is happy to spend all school time since the primary to the end of high school suffering bullying and a very few people are happy to stay single all life or in any way until their forties or fifties, sixties...Unfortunately, life isn't easy in a western country (especially in my former country) for people who aren't good-looking.
