Many guys in my country are saving up for their wedding. Some have been on this savings plan for years now. Do you think that a wedding is something that one should be saving for? It is not a productive venture? Why save for it?

No! It is only a simps that saves for wedding. Moreover, average dude have no reason to engage in elaborate wedding. Just don't overdo and put your finances in tight shape because after wedding comes the hard nut of raising kids. If you wife to be did not like the arrangement, let her forget about the marriage.

Weeding is something that you should plan and save for,in my country we have traditional weeding first followed by a white wedding, and all this comes with expenses so yeah plan and save ahead

In India one has to save if he/she wants a social wedding.

Did you mean to save for the wedding day or the wedding life? In the first case, savings would turn into lavished money. Due to the contingencies overwhelming people nowadays, it's very desirable to save for the wedding life instead of the wedding day.

Yes, definitely, unless you already have a lot of money or earn a lot of money per month, clearly if you want to get married you should save up because a wedding is not always cheap, clearly.
That's when you want a society wedding. There are some times that I have seen people start planning a wedding in two months and get it sorted out. And they didn't do a society wedding.

Even if I would have to save for my wedding, I won't have a wedding that is more expensive than $300. Maybe, I should start saving for that now.
$300 should be around 460k or there about in naira, will you be able to manage that for a wedding? Unless it's an extremely small one with less than 20 people maybe ?

Well people save for weddings for different reasons. Most of the money gets burned in a single day, sure, but some stuff actually sticks around. We didn’t bother with a big event at all, we just budgeted for the parts that don’t disappear overnight. Photos, a small dinner, and my wife wanted her bouquet turned into something permanent. We sent it to DBANDREA and that’s basically the only physical thing we still have from the whole thing. So I wouldn’t save for the spectacle, but saving a little for the parts that have a life beyond the party isn’t crazy.
