I totally agree. Directly competing with your boss rarely ends well — it can create tension and even hurt your career in the long run. I think it’s much smarter to focus on doing your job well and showing your value through your contributions. A boss is a boss; he or she is put up there because of his excellence both academically and experientially. It is crucial if an employee is doing that, there will be chaos and intrigue.

That is true , mate, a subordinate must not aspire to become the boss, she or he will only put the work they have in a desperate situation why they will not be promoted by the boss. he boss may find a way to emoe the employee.
