Many communities still treat GBV as a “family issue,” which leads to silence and ongoing suffering imagine a community where every neighbour sees it as their duty to report abuse and support survivors, how different would things be? Should community leaders create safe reporting spaces, or should every household be educated on how to respond? What is the responsibility of a community when it comes to GBV?

Hello, I believe that the idea of each community viewing gender-based violence as everyone's responsibility is fundamental to generating real change. When neighbors, leaders, and people in general stop considering it solely a family problem, doors open to reporting and supporting victims without fear. Creating safe spaces to report abuse is an excellent initiative, but it's also important to educate every household on how to respond appropriately and support survivors. The community's responsibility is to protect, prevent, and act together. Solidarity and education are key to reducing the silence and complicity that often perpetuate the cycle of violence. If we all take an active role, we can build safer and fairer environments where victims feel they are not alone and that their well-being is everyone's priority.

If a community is able to look out for one another, it will definitely be a healthy community and will help the people there a lot, unfortunately the reverse is the case these days.

You are right if a community can put their own differences aside and be United we will see a major difference in terms of GBV
