Submitting life certificate is a nightmare in India

Pensioners in India have to submit a life certificate every year. It has become a nightmare now. We senior citizens have to wait for hours in line to submit the life certificate just because the bank is changing rules every year. Earlier we just had to fill a form and submit the photocopy of pan card or Aadhaar card and our pension ID number. Since last year the bank changed its system. Last year they had to go to a link for verification. The internet being slow the link took time to open and it took hours to submit our details. This time the bank used a smartphone to submit the details digitally. Now this took time too because of slow internet. I was stranded in bank for two hours. That's the reason I don't keep any other work the day I have to submit my life certificate in the bank.

I thought India was a country that is advanced digitally. Why then subject pensioners to the horror of submitting these documents physically.
I suspect a ploy to engage in corruption by demanding bribes.

They don't demand bribe in the bank but the government at the center is always searching for a plea to block the money of pensioners.
