Any tips for promoting affiliate links on Facebook?

Does anyone have any advice on the best way to promote links on Facebook? What kind of content works best - just posting the links or adding more text and images too?
Also, should I share them on my own page or is it better to join groups and forums to post? Don't want to spam people but curious what strategies others have used successfully.

I'm just a regular Facebook user for now. But I'm looking at how I could also influence as well as I have the ability for it

One of the tip that i know is useful in promoting affiliate link on Facebook is sharing valuable contents. Another one is by making use of Facebook groups to share affiliate links.
