11 killed, 8 missing in flash floods and landslides amid heavy rain in Nepal

At least 11 people have died in Nepal in the last 36 hours as a result of landslides and flash floods caused by heavy rains, which have also blocked important highways and roads, officials said on Sunday.

To clear the landslides and reopen the roads, rescue personnel are working hard.

The Koshi River in southeast Nepal was flowing over the danger level, according to a district official. The river often causes fatal floods in the eastern Indian state of Bihar.

Horrible! It seems that Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia and host of other Asian countries are prone to flooding. Since early last year, there are reports of flooding killing and destroying homes! Government in those area should take proactive measures to condition those natural disasters.
