The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday confirmed the rescue of 20 Filipino women who were reportedly brought by a Philippine agency to become surrogate moms in Cambodia.
It was learned from the DFA that 13 are already in various stages of pregnancy and are currently sheltered in a local hospital. The seven are set to be repatriated. These pregnant women are victims of human trafficking and the authorities are tracking the foreign nationals who are recruiting venerable Filipinas to work as surrogate moms in Cambodia.
This shall not be tolerated.
