Dear Discussion Bucks Community,
Since I first created Discussion Bucks in mid-September of 2023, and with our official launch on October 2nd, it has been an incredible journey. Over the last year, we have grown beyond what I could have imagined. In under a year, we’ve seen over 92,000 replies across nearly 12,000 discussions, averaging about 264 replies per day, 1,845 replies per week, and 8,024 replies per month. We’ve welcomed over 285 new members, and we’ve experienced the natural ups and downs of growth. Through it all, Discussion Bucks has thrived, and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished together.
To date, Discussion Bucks has paid its members exactly $1,449.06 across 148 transactions, averaging about $9.79 per transaction. On a larger scale, that’s approximately $4.14 per day, $28.98 per week, and $126.03 per month since our official launch. I’m incredibly proud that, thanks to our supportive community and partnerships, we’ve been able to cover these expenses, along with others.
With this in mind, I must announce that I will be stepping down from my role as owner of Discussion Bucks in the next few weeks. After much thought, I’ve decided to hand over the reins to Fords8, who has been with me since the very beginning. He has been an invaluable part of this community’s growth and development, and I trust that he will continue to nurture and expand on our vision.
This transition wasn’t part of my original plan, but as my personal life evolves, I believe this is the best path forward for the community. Between increasing personal commitments—such as my involvement in a new church, the return of my bowling league, and a changing work schedule—I no longer have the capacity to dedicate the time and financial resources needed to keep Discussion Bucks running at its full potential.
Rest assured, this is not goodbye. I will remain an admin on the forum, continuing to be an active part of the community in a different capacity. I’m excited to reconnect with you all, not just as the person behind the scenes but as a more active participant in discussions and events. The best days of Discussion Bucks are still ahead, and I’m confident Fords8 will guide us through this next chapter smoothly.
To our members: You will not lose any D Bucks or balance on your accounts, and all withdrawals will continue as scheduled. The transition will be seamless, and I’ll be working closely with Fords8 to ensure everything goes smoothly.
As we move forward, I want to thank you for your unwavering support and remind you that we are still competing in the Agora Forum referral contest. We’re just 3 referrals (we may need more, there's one individual on Agora that is currently ahead of us by 2 referrals) away from securing the first-place prize of $200, and should we win, all funds will be reinvested into Discussion Bucks.
Thank you all for being a part of this amazing journey. It has been an honor to lead this community, and I’m excited for what’s to come. Let’s continue building together—our best days are yet to come!
Warm regards,
Devin
