30 years is too long to sit in an office being told what to do

There are companies that offer seminars in literacy. Like my case, I am a member of the World Financial Group (WFG) based from the USA and Marketing Group it's affiliated company in the Philippines. It's there I learned financial literacy, passive income, and financial freedom.

There are still a lot of people who work for companies for life. Not everyone has the desire to start a business. They prefer to have a stable income. If someone who has worked for 30 years for employers and still have not saved any money, then s(he) must have managed his/her personal finance poorly.

I see many people surviving like that and its all because of poor financial planning and many people do get married soon and have kids and then its tough to control expenses and they don't have any option and they need to spend and can't save money.

Agree, those people also have on mind to do something to improve their finances but they lack drive and literacy. They only work and work.

That's good to hear from you that you want your kids to be financially literate to have a different way of thinking life that must be about business making. They will surely like it. While they're young, ask them what business they like.

Thirty years of office life with nothing in savings really hits differently. It’s not just about working hard, it’s about working smart and planning ahead. People who spend without direction end up scrambling in old age. Taking control of finances and thinking about the future is the key to not ending up in that situation.

I can't blame others who don't have savings despite working like a horse, they might be the bread winners in their family and despite a manager but the daily needs and children's needs in education is more than enough for the the person to sustain and have something left for his pocket. But once again it's not the reason why he can't save. He always has bonuses which he might have saved. If he's only smart...

My dear I have to say that, unfortunately here in Italy things are even worse: this is because in 2011 the Italian Government implemented a job reform that was not welcomed by everyone called Legge Fornero. Whith that change, today it is possible to retire only after having worked for at least 41 years and 7 months, or upon reaching the age of 67!(n)
But what was the cause? You have to know that in Italy ince the early '90s there have been too many early retirements, with many worker's retiring when at the time where just forties. So this has led nowadays to having too many pensioners and few contributing workers. Always someone else has to pay for other people's mistakes!(n)(n)
Oh! That's unfortunate!
How about voluntary retirement? Are people not allowed to retire before they actually reach retirement age or duration? That would be unfortunate and more like a forced and bonded labour.
Here, in our country, we have a retirement age of 62 or 35 years of service ( some exceptions are there) . Some people retire before age because they complete the years of service. People are free to choose voluntary retirement.

Well I suppose that the cause of this forward shift in the retirement age in Italy probably dates back to the early 1990s, when some people managed to retire using supplementary pensions, at or just above 40. As you can see, we've gone from one extreme to another.

It's actually another extreme and does not sound good. I am sure that people would have already started questioning the decision as it must be impacting them. And the governments might be aware too. They should rethink of this decision and come out with something that is middle way.
Here in our country, early retirement trend is picking up. Newer generations want to work hard and mint money till early 40s and then they go for gigs kind of work. They want to enjoy their life, spehd time on their wishlist and work at their convenience.

I agree with you. However, I personally wrote in another post that people (I'm speaking to non-Italians, obviously) need to start thinking that Italy is no longer the beautiful country as once was and those who live abroad mistakenly continue to think that we Italians are still living well. Not at all! Things have changed, especially in the last 10-20 years! I can personally confirm this as a fifty-year-old Italian citizen, born here and still living here.

A long tenure in one place, especially if it's a restrictive one, can lead to feelings of being stuck and unfulfilled.
In fact, you think that if a person has to stay in that uncomfortable place for a long time like 40 years... I think that could also risks serious psychological repercussions such as exhaustion. Do you agree?
