6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Taiwan, Dozens Hospitalized With Serious Injuries

According to the latest report, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake jolted Tainan City of China's Taiwan region at 12:17 Tuesday (Beijing Time). The epicenter, with a depth of 14 km, was monitored at 23.24 degrees north latitude and 120.51 degrees east longitude.

The report said that tremors were felt in Taipei, lasting for over 10 seconds, and several aftershocks occurred after the quake. Residents in east China's Fujian Province which sits on the opposite site of the Taiwan Strait to the island also experienced tremors.

The report also said that a total of 15 people were injured in the quake and rushed to hospital, according to Taiwan's firefighting authorities.

Thankful there were no casualties. May there be no aftermath of this latest quake in Taiwan.
