I make, sell pepper soup with stolen goats at my beer parlour ? 56-yr-old suspect

A 56-year-old beer parlour operator in Ondo state, Ayo Akinpelu, has been arrested by the Amotekun command in Ipetu-Ijes community for stealing goats which he says he uses to make the goat meat pepper soup he sells in his beer parlour.

A statement issued by command spokesperson, Yusuf Idowu, on Thursday in Osogbo, stated that the suspects was apprehended with the stolen goat hidden in his Lexus Jeep after some residents tipped the command.

Akinpelu was reportedly stopped by vigilant members of the community who insisted on inspecting the vehicle, leading to the discovery of the animals. Unable to provide a credible explanation, the suspect was immediately handed over to the Amotekun operatives

It’s surprising that a business owner would resort to stealing to supply his own products. The quick action of the community and Amotekun shows how effective local vigilance can be. Hopefully, this serves as a warning to others considering similar actions. Law enforcement and community cooperation are clearly important in maintaining order.
