I have heard stories of people that had good college degrees but were not picked for the jobs they applied for. People that don't have college degrees were rather picked. Is a college degree not enough to guarantee a job now?

Unfortunately this is the society we are in today, a college degree is no longer enough, even with the best results, most times you still need connections to secure your job.

Although finishing college is not a guarantee of success, it is something that will not be taken away from you and can be useful when the time is right. These days, even an undergraduate can find a good job and make more money than a college graduate.

There are still companies which hire fresh graduates with a degree. But for a lot of jobs, companies do require people with experience and connections instead of just a degree.
Over here most times even with the needed experience, it is still not enough. What matters is who you know or the connections you have. It's a pity though.

It is actually a pity that they have devalued college education that much. That's why many young people are saying that school is a scam.
That's absolutely true. In developing countries, college degree holders still struggle to find decent jobs. Many graduates become street sweepers. Although their salaries aren't much different from office workers, what use are their skills?

Education or a college degree is not a scam, because the purpose of higher education is not to get a job, but to educate people so they become smart and can think logically.

A degree still matters, but it is no longer a golden ticket. Many employers now want a mix of qualifications, experience, and skills that match the role. Someone without a degree but with hands on experience can sometimes outshine a fresh graduate. Networking, internships, and building a portfolio can make a big difference in getting noticed.

Employers feel that the college system is not producing graduates that can match today's job demands. That's why they can't employ people based on college certificates any longer.
You are right, not to mention the fact that most of them actually bought their results, so there is no way they can defend it.
