There is this first time customer that came to my sewing shop and forgot a bag of vegetables and other perishable foodstuff in my shop. I only discovered the bag after the customer had left. She is a first time customer and I don't know her place or have her contact. After tomorrow, those foodstuff would likely get bad.

What do I do if I wait after tomorrow and she doesn't come to carry the bag?

I often encounter similar situations: many customers often forget items, even wallets containing money. If you encounter a customer who forgets vegetables and other perishable food items, you simply need to store them. If they've been out for more than two hours, you should store them in the refrigerator to prevent them from spoiling or rotting. Of course, once the customer realizes they've forgotten their items, they'll look for them in your store.

I really think that this is the way to go. But if the customer doesn't come back for the vegetables and those items are about to spoil? What does she do?

The problem is the customer might not even remember they left it at your store, the best thing to do is to keep it for awhile, if you have a fridge you can preserve it there but at the end of the day if they do not come for it, then there is no need keeping it.
