A friend of mine is doing a job that pays him just basic minimum wage, but the job gives him time to participate in his religious activities. He is a strong leader in his religion and if he is not around, things might not work well in his place of worship.

A job comes to him that would give him double the pay and exposure to some valuable people in politics. But this new job opening won't give him any time for religious activities.

If you were in his shoe, how would you make that decision?

I would forget religion and get the job. I am not a religious fanatic to give up a job that would pay me well for religious activities.
If the job is legit and pays well, don't be tied down by a belief that deprives you of sustenance. You don't have to be a fanatic to the point of not eating. Religion is for the soul. Work is for the body. If you balance everything, you're fine. Don't be fooled by other people's guilt. A drop of wisdom is better than an ocean of following your passion. Play your game and live without any regrets.

The truth of the matter is we can't make the decision for him. The question he should ask himself is can he cope with the changes and is he comfortable?
