Unfortunately, the practice still continues amongst so-called "Fundamentalist LDS" offshoots to this day.

Doesn't the USA government intervene? As such a practice is forbidden to all ordinary Americans, it's curious a small group to receive a special permission to break the government's laws. It was even more curious in the last centuries until 1890, because the government laws were even more strict and severe (at least, until I know)...

If its' inside the U.S., yes.

Until I know, Canada is very severe also towards the crime of bigamy (and, obviously, polygamy), as it's considered a crime among the western countries, including Mexico...Nor in Mexico people can have more than one spouse until being a widowed or divorced.

Yes, of course ! As a lot of times marriage means compromise, now, multiply your compromises! It also happens to the best couples to quarrel: imagine multiplying the quarrels...

l do agree with the lawyer. That is because that would lower down domestic violence cases ass the man have to switch from one wife to the other in cases of wrangles.
