A suspected motorcycle thief was lynched and set ablaze by an angry mob in Makurdi, Benue State.

The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, September 2, 2025 around Railway Quarters.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect allegedly attempted to snatch a commercial motorcycle from its owner.

The victim’s alarm drew the attention of residents, who pursued and apprehended the suspect.

The mob descended on the suspect, beat him to pulp and later set him on fire.

Mob justice is a normal occurrence in Nigeria especially in Middle Belt region. On daily basis, you must hear about one or two tragic killing of young people.

While i don't support the thief, jungle justice can never be the right way to go about things, then again these thieves have refused learn and change, it's a pity.

What a relief, those who follow the same crime will be hesitant. It also happened here in my country, a criminal caught by the citizens is beaten badly and brutally.
