A YouTuber arrested in Venezuela on terrorism charges

A popular YouTuber, Oscar Perez. been arrested in Caracas on terrorism charges. This comes after President Nicolás Maduro’s government restrictions on free speech ahead of upcoming elections.

Perez was arrested in the capital’s main airport by the police on a charge bothering on terrorism. Perez, 37 was about to fly to Canaima national parkbbut he is under interrogation by anti-terrorism investigators now

But it has been noted that Venezuelan government has been using terrorism as a catch-all-term to jail opposition figures.
