You can earn through adsense on your website as well as youtube. On YouTube, earnings are basically based on impressions (CPM), while on websites, it mostly depends on clicks (CPC). However, your earnings depend on several factors like location of your visitors, ad type, etc. For example, with a $5 CPM, you will earn $5 per 1,000 video views. If you average $0.10 per click on your website, you’d need 10 ad clicks to make $1. Higher-tier traffic usually brings better CPM and CPC
