One thing that I don't joke with is relationship with customers. And most times, unknown to most business people, customers always have the potential to give long term benefits. Most business people always care about their money and not about building sustainable relationships with their customers. Don't deal with your customers just based on the now.

Sustainable relationships doesn't means giving your products or goods on credit basis. Some customers are always looking for ways to exploit the business man
 
When you serve a customer, remember s(he) may not be your one-time customer. You need to build long-term relationship with him/her to earn their trust and loyalty. In this way, your business will have good reputation and recurrent income.

It doesn't mean so, I fully agree. But some business people are so myopic that they only consider the profit for a particular transaction and they would treat the customers badly.
