Anyone understand the entire Metaverse thing?

The term, "Metaverse* seems to ring a bell in the internet and tech space today. Yet, some people don't even understand what the Metaverse is all about. Is there anyone that can explain what the Metaverse is and the potential benefits it has on internet users.

The Metaverse is a virtual world and that wants to give people the ability to do things that they do physically or n the virtual world without leaving their homes.

Metaverse is a 3D virtual world where we as avatars can interact with other users around the world, even in India there was a wedding party in the Metaverse and invited their friends from the community, watched music concerts, invested, did business, traveled to the Giza pyramids, etc. To enter the Metaverse you need Ether stored in a wallet like Metamask, software, gloves, AR and VR, etc.

Honestly, everything about metaverse is still confusing to me. Though i understand that metaverse have to with 3D virtual reality where someone can interact and do business without leaving his home.
