Apps paying for app usage data

There are multiple apps which claim that they are paying users for app usage data. Does anyone install multiple apps on the same smartphone or other device? Also if the same app is installed on multiple devices, do they get paid for each device?

In the medium and long term, it can be a source of extra income. If you have many devices connected simultaneously, you might be able to generate a monthly income, although you'd have to calculate the electricity cost to know if you're actually making money or simply losing it. The most logical option is through referrals; with referrals, you can earn a lot of money.

For me l have never come across such kind of applications for that matter. However l have seen the apps that pay users for selling their data.
