I can remember in the past when we used to watch the cinema through the projectors. Although the images appeared to be big but it had so low contrust and the lowest quality images.

Yes! In some remote areas in Africa, churches use it for evangelism. Churches uses it to draw crowds during crusades in rural areas. Projectors is still popular in African countries.

Though most people tend to go for LED screens, but there are places that still makes use of projectors. Projectors are usually less expensive than LED screen.
I think that projectors are still being used more, especially for evangelism where a gospel movie is shown. These of course do not have a quality picture in most instances. But I am wondering what kind of technology that cinemas use.
People still use projectors especially if they want to cast a screen outdoors. For most indoor screen casting, a LED screen is always preferred by most media people.

Yes, they remain popular now. They are used in meetings and presentations. They're also used in some churches. Our church has one.
Projectors ar still being used in schools and colleges to deliver lectures to students. I don't think LCD screens for projecting would phase out projectors.
Yes, the old projectors don't have that much quality, but now there are very amazing projectors who produce good image quality, most cinemas use those kinds of projectors.
