Are the street hawkers required to pay taxes for their businesses?

In my country, the street hawkers are required to pay for taxes for their businesses. In fact most of them are being harassed by the relevant law enforcers for the same.

In my country the businessmen that wouldn't be paying out the taxes to the governments wouldn't find any peace while doing the business activities for sure.

Yes I believe they also have to pay tax or at least pay for permission to hawk. I was surprised to find out that they even have a hawkers permit.

In my home country, street hawking is illegal. If you want to do a business, it needs to be registered.

Here I don't think they pay taxes but you have to buy tickets to hawk in the marketplaces
