Health officials are issuing warnings about the dangers of heatstroke and other heat-related illnesses as temperatures climb. Protection from heat exhaustion and heat stroke is emphasized; stay hydrated, seek shade, and avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day. Elderly and children are especially vulnerable during extreme heat, so everyone must take precautions. On March 3rd, the temperature is expected to reach 46 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila.

That is not a joke. People in Metro Manila must protect themselves by not exposing themselves in the sun. We also observe the extreme heat here in Cagayan de Oro City. Next month is the start of the Holy Week and on Wednesday is Ash day.

The heat this period is really something else, everyone needs to stay safe and find ways to protect themselves. Too much exposure to the sun can also lead to skin cancer from what i heard.

Do you also observe a sweltering heat in your place? Month of March in the Philippines is the starting month for summer up to mid of July. We are also experiencing a sweltering here in Cagayan de Oro City the city where I live. Summer last year, we experienced a heat index up to 52 degrees Celcius. Classes were converted to online modalities.
