At what age do you teach your child to start making money?

It has been a rigid debate on when to start making the effort to tell your child the right time to start making money and depending on himself. Most parents prefer to provide for there children till they get too much dependent on them.

As a parent at what age should the child be taught to be independent?

From the age of 15 should be a good time for it. There's no need waiting till the child have overgrown for it.

A child should focus on his/her study. I think when the child is about 15-16 studying in high school, when necessary, s(he) can do some part time job to make money. I have been a private tutor for a primary school student when I was studying in high school.

I will teach it when they get mature, at the age of 18 years. They are 15 years of age as of now and I think it's the age when they should study and start making their career.

When I was 11 years old I started making money and nobody taught me. I think it depends on the child's interest. Kids like to play. The best age will be during their college.

Probably as from 11 or 12 upwards. I would start introducing them to various ways they can make money online and as well learn skills.

My children would start making money as early as 10 years old. By the time they get to 15, I should set up a functional business for them.

It's best to ask the kids on what they like to do to earn money. That's brainstorming for them, thus, they can come out with their best choice.

I would keenly observe my child very early in life to see what he or she is good at. When once I can pick that, I am pushing him or her to pro level in that area before age 14. I can't have a 15 year old kid not making money.

I think it's best after children graduate from college and get a job so they can live independently, without the help of their parents, but when they were still at school they weren't serious about making money, they just tried it, like when I was in college I often traded stocks but just for fun, not making money seriously. .

not sure I do not have kids but maybe you should start with teaching how to save money then you can go to more complicated thing try to see what kid likes and see if it can be profitible

I do not have kids. If I did, I'd teach them to start earning money at age 12. The earlier, the better.

I don't have kids but I will ask the younger generation to focus first in school - if they want to became a working student, it is up to them. Provided that they don't compromise their education.

Yes in as much as a child should focus on their studies nothing bad to start making money from age 17 to help out.
