Bangladesh Mulls Sheikh Hasina's Extradition, India Faces Dilemma

According to the report, with the legal cases mounting against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh may soon request her extradition from India. Bangladesh’s de-facto Foreign Minister, Mohammad Touhid Hossain, indicated on Thursday that if the home and law ministries decide to proceed, they might formally ask for her return.

Wythe report said that Hasina fled to India on August 5, following a violent uprising that claimed more than 400 lives. She now faces at least three cases in Bangladesh, including a murder charge. When asked about the possibility of extradition, India’s foreign ministry dismissed the question as "hypothetical."
