According to the report, Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal has launched efforts to extradite former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India. Hasina, ousted in August after mass protests and a violent crackdown, fled to India and is now wanted for her alleged role in overseeing massacres.

The re[ort added that Bangladesh aims to bring her back under a 2013 extradition treaty. Relations between Dhaka and New Delhi could face strain as the legal process begins. Interim leader Muhammad Yunus has urged Hasina to remain quiet while exiled in India until her return for trial

The report wadded that one citizen said that Bangladesh, instead of focusing on internal peace and stability, and an election, the interim government (not elected by the citizens), is trying to agitate the situation more. They think that bringing Hasina back will solve their internal problems.

Hoping that they get a stable democratically elected government soon and peace returns there. Some even feel that all this pretending to have a fair election and have a democratic government might be an eye wash. A greater fear is looming that the country might go down being dominated by rigid Islamic fundamentalists and may become another Afghanistan down the lane. We can only wait and watch.
