Since 2016, many crypto experts have proposed Bitcoin as a safe haven asset, especially compared to local currencies in developing countries. Furthermore, the often volatile macroeconomic environment, such as the tariff and trade wars that erupted a few months ago, has significantly impacted Bitcoin, particularly as it strengthens amidst the global macro environment.
Starting in 2025, investors' views began to shift toward Bitcoin, with most supporting it as a safe haven asset. These reasons include its use not only by retail investors but also by institutions, and even as a reserve fund by several countries. Its strong market performance and liquidity are also key factors. Bitcoin's limited supply means its price will continue to skyrocket.

However, many economists disagree with or oppose Bitcoin as a safe haven asset. They believe it's too early to consider Bitcoin a safe haven asset, and that Bitcoin remains vulnerable to global market impacts. Those opposed to Bitcoin consistently view its price as highly volatile, with price increases often considered a bubble that could burst at any time.
