British couple reunited with daughter after months held by Taliban

After being held captive by the Taliban for almost eight months, a British couple was released and reunited emotionally with their daughter. On February 1, Peter Reynolds, 80, and his wife Barbie, 76, who had spent almost 20 years in Afghanistan, were halted while returning home.

Through Qatari intervention, the couple was freed on Friday morning. Their daughter greeted them upon their arrival in Doha. Although their permanent residence is in the Bamiyan area of Afghanistan, they will travel to the UK following medical examinations.

Although they have never revealed the reason for their imprisonment, the Taliban claimed the two had violated Afghan law and were freed following legal proceedings.

Hoping that these oldies will have another 20 years of their lives with their children. They need to replace their bad memories in jail with happy one with their children. They need support to forget their worst ordeals in the Taliban prison.
