Budget Tips for Online Freelancers

I've been working online for more than a decade. I've learned how to budget for myself because I do not always have a job. As an online freelancer, I always keep track of my spending, save for retirement, have additional sources of income, cut back on unnecessary expenses, restrict eating out, invest in myself by taking online courses, and prepare for days when I do not have work. Working online is inherently unsteady, so always be prepared. What are the budget tips can you share as an online freelancer?

I think it would be nice for freelancers to also have others sources of income. This would help balance things up during the periods there are no gigs for you to do.
