Business losses is normal but when you have to payback a customer an amount that you don't even make in a month, how do you handle that? Maybe, a customer's that you were working on got spoilt and you have to replace it. Have you ever faced such in your business? How do you handle that?

I have not experienced it in my business. It's crucial if encounter such kind of problem. It's best to be all the time cautious. Train your workers to be cautious you to avoid mistakes to customers that may harm your business and reputation.

While i have had to use my money to compete a job cause there was some issues, i have never had to pay something way more than what i earn. In a situation like this i think it is best to discuss and reason with the customer to come to an agreement.

That sinking feeling is so real. I have faced this. You take a deep breath and do the honest thing, even if it hurts. You pay the customer, apologise from the heart, and learn. This painful moment builds a priceless reputation for integrity that will come back to you.

I’ve faced something similar, and it’s rough. Paying back more than you earn monthly feels unfair, but reputation matters. I handled it by negotiating. Partial refund, replacement, or payment over time. Most reasonable customers understand if you’re upfront. After that experience, I started keeping a small emergency fund just for business mistakes.
