Can PCs ever be replaced?

There waa a time that it seemed like the personal computers would be replaced. iPads and smartphones started to perform functions that was only possible with the use of PCs alone. Till today, PCs are still being used for work. Can personal computers ever be replaced with other tech devices?

Technically, they’ve been replaced by tablets and smartphones as you can do the same thing on smartphones & tablets that you can do on a PC.

The only difference is the power that PCs have over smartphones and tablets only with the screen size.

I don't think that personal computers would ever leave the mainstream. Banks won't start using iPads for their operations.

As far as personal computers have an element that would make you choose them in advanced tasks, it definitely means that it can't be replaced.

So many times I have tried to completely eliminate my computer, but I run back to it because mobile devices are so limited.

You are right, most of the task we do with our pc can now be done with smartphones, even things like video editing, graphic designing and the likes can also be done on a tablet or smartphone.

PC have already been replaced by smartphones and tablets! Most smartphones have more capacity than most PCs. Literally, PC will still be used in offices just for artistic and official purposes.
