I had opened a current bank account more than twenty years ago and I find that I cannot add it to my tax profile, I am getting an error, validation failed. I have contacted the tax department customer support, and they are giving an irrelevant reply which does not solve the problem. Does anyone find that they cannot add their current/business account to their tax profile?

OK, you can try visiting your government's official income tax website, create an account or log in, select your profile, and then go to "My Bank Account." Look for the three dots above and select "Revalidate." Once your information matches your profile, click "Done." After that, you can try again to add your bank account to your tax profile.

I have tried to validate it again after the status was shown as Revalidation failed, yet I am again getting the message that validation has failed, Last year I tried repeatedly to revalidate, I again got the error message that revalidation failed.

An old account may contain information that is not matched to the current tax authority system, which can cause a verification error.

It can be frustrating when you get vague answers from customer service. Try writing a formal letter or visiting their office in person to explain your challenge in detail.

Don’t give up—others have been through this too. With patience and the right steps, you can find a solution.
