Many people CBDC was launched to replace cryptocurrency, but in fact CBDC and crypto are very different. CBDC is regulated and issued by a country's central bank, and currently more than 100 countries in the world have CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency). Even though there are many CBDCs that run on blockchain, CBDCs are still not considered cryptocurrencies. CBDC is just a substitute for a country's currency and like currency CBDC also has basic functions as a medium of exchange, store of value and unit of account.
