According to the report, Germany’s naval presence in Asia is making headlines as two warships await orders to pass through the Taiwan Strait for the first time since 2002. This move could escalate tensions with China, which claims sovereignty over Taiwan and the Strait.

The report said that Germany's move is being seen as an attempt to support international law and freedom of navigation in a region where tensions are high. The Taiwan Strait is a critical trade route. Germany's decision comes as China, which claims sovereignty over Taiwan and the strait, is increasing its military activities in the region.

The report added that these German naval vessels will also participate in joint exercises with regional allies. The only thing the Germán warships wanted was to allow them to cross the Taiwan Strait , however, the other side of the Chinese considered it as alarming to mean Germany ready to defend Taiwan in case worse cones worse.
