According to the news, China has successfully conducted the first phase of sea trials for its third aircraft carrier Fujian. Fujian is being called a supercarrier because it will be the largest aircraft carrier in Asia.

The news also added that China will now become only the second nation in the world after the US with an aircraft carrier that uses electromagnetic launch systems or EMALS. This comes at a time when China is showing more and more aggressive behavior towards India, Philippines, Japan, Taiwan and the US. Meanwhile, China also claims Spratly Islands and Scarborough shoal including the Second Thomas shoal belong to the Philippines.
